Back at the end of May, I noted how SCOTUS, in its proposed Rule changes, was going to mandate the use of a font–New Century Schoolbook–which is not even available on MS Word or WordPerfect (a/k/a chisel and rock). I also noted how curious it was for SCOTUS to mandate the use of a font which is a propietary typeset.

SCOTUS

Well, Clerk of the Court William K. Suter, has come to his senses, and issued this “Memorandum to Counsel,” which allows for the use of “typeface … in a Century family (e.g., Century Expanded, New Century Schoolbook, or Century Schoolbook).” Century Schoolbook is the version of Century loaded in MS Word.

Thx to How Appealing and William K. Suter
