With his recent validation by SCOTUS‘s decision in Medellin v. Texas, No. 06-984 (2008 ) and SCOTUS’s likely agreement with his briefing on behalf of thirty-one other states in District of Columbia v. Heller (no. 07-290), Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz’s jurisprudential and political stock is on the rise.

What people seem to be missing here is Ted Cruz awesome Canadian heritage. Born in Canada, Ted Cruz was the first Canadian Solicitor General in the history of Texas’ then 3-year-old Solicitor General’s office. He’s also the first Canadian ever to run for Texas Attorney General, and the first Canadian Hispanic ever to clerk for Justice Rehnquist. Ever proud of his Canadian heritage, I’m sure its exclusion on his website is a mere oversight.

I worked with R. (Ted) Edward Cruz at the AG’s office. He was an elitist and treated everyone who wasn’t in a position of power over him with disdain. Rude. The public has never seen his true personality. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they treat someone who can’t benefit them. His behavior sounds like what we’ve heard of Hillary. What does the R stand for anyway?
